Trapper Pat's Rattle Rescue provides quick response service to relocate rattlesnakes that pose a threat. We also take a proactive approach to rattlesnake conservation by provide education on rattlesnake safety and prevention.
These emergency responses and education are just a portion of our work but it very important to our conservation efforts.
As an extension of the services, Rattle Rescue is actively engaged in the conservation of all snakes in Poway, with special attention to rattlesnakes. Each snake we rescue provides us with more information to better understand the relationship between people and snakes so we can and coexist in the Southern California desert.
While Rattle Rescue strives to promote conservation of all rattlesnakes, special attention is paid to Poway's native species of rattlesnake, the Red Diamond Rattle Snake (Crotalus Ruber). The Red Diamond Rattlesnake is a species of special concern. CLICK HERE to learn more about the importance and need to conserve the Red Diamond Rattlesnake.
Through these efforts, we strive to bring a positive change to people's outlook on rattlesnakes and develop best practices to improve human and rattlesnake relationship.
While these creatures are terrifying and dangerous, they are also a magnificent and beautiful creature that play an important role in the ecosystem.

Trapper Pat wants to provide rattle snake removal as a community service and give back to the residents of Poway. To keep this spirit, everything rattlesnake related is completely volunteer based and there is no profit margin or revenue for Poway residents (homes in the 92064-zip code).
Poway is Trapper Pat's hometown since he was eleven. He's poured his life and soul into the community; he watched the town developed into the amazing place it is, he raised his children with his wife in Poway, he's helped guide the city's development by attending city council meetings. It's this love and passion for Poway that drives Trapper Pat to give back by keeping it free for Poway.
Through this effort, Trapper Pat also hopes to inspire younger people to care for their community as much as he does.
As a free community service, it needs to be incredibly cost effective with little to no overhead. Everything, from the equipment used to the educational online presence comes from personal funds. Additionally, Trapper Pat drops his regular job to help the community, which costs him wages.
Because we want the spirit of this service to remain free, we humbly ask for a tip or donation to keep the spirit alive. Never required, but a small donation is greatly appreciated. Even a few dollars go a long way to help offset the cost of running this volunteer service.
The donations are used to replace failing equipment, provide training, offset the cost of gasoline driving to calls, offset the loss of regular job wages, and maintaining an online presence. Locations outside the free areas incur a small fee to recover the cost of gas.
